Stainless Fittings Limited (SFL) is still located on the site in Dudley, West Midlands, where the company began manufacturing high quality stainless steel tubular products in 1952.

During the mid-1980s, our traditional UK brewing and dairy markets were undergoing rationalisation as many businesses experienced increasing levels of competition. Therefore, to capitalise on our reputation for high quality tubing and fittings, we took the decision to diversify into the bio-pharmaceutical market, where the highest quality standards and product specifications are demanded.

In 1989 we introduced the Biobore range of stainless steel tube and fittings, which had been specifically developed for the pharmaceuticals market. Today, Biobore is a well-established brand within the pharmaceuticals industry and is specified by major Blue Chip companies throughout the UK and Europe and in the Far East, South America and the Middle East.

At the same time as SFL launched Biobore, we began to specialise in fabrications for OEMs. High quality fabrications have become a large part of our business, as we utilise our engineering expertise to help customers save on installation time and costs. Export sales have increased significantly during the past decade, and we are seeking to maximise our experience by advising you and helping to ensure you obtain the right process solution.

With the introduction of the BPE specification by ASME, SFL wasted no time in developing a range of BPE -accredited products to meet the new standard. Technical data is available and pharmaceuticals manufacturers, main contractors, OEMs and installers are being kept up to date with developments as our production facilities undergo a gradual changeover from non-BPE Biobore tubing and fittings to the new range of BPE products.

SFL is accredited to BS EN ISO 9002 and is a member of the following professional bodies:

  • ISPE - International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineers
  • IChemE - Institute of Chemical Engineers
  • BSSA - British Stainless Steel Association
