IMPORTANT
1 - Ensure zero line pressure prior to removing valve from line or dismantling
2 - Do not operate valve with top cap loose
3 - Top cap only requires 1 3/4 turns approx to fully disengage from body

General

Plug valves are precision made items and should be treated with care in accordance with the instructions.

Plug valve torque / sealing adjustment

The setting of this valve depends on a balance between sealing through the ways and the maximum permissable torque of the actuator.
This plug valve has been adjusted for the correct seal / torque setting before dispatch.  Should the seal / torque setting require adjustment then the following procedure should be applied.

To improve sealing & increase torque setting

1) Release top cap approx 1/4 turn

2) Slacken locknut

3) Turn adjustment screw clockwise approx 5 degrees

4) Re-tighten locknut

5) Re-tighten top cap until the complete assembly locks on the valve body

6) Reset and actuate valve for the correct operation

To reduce torque settings

1) Release top cap approx 1/4 turn

2) Slacken locknut

3) Turn adjustment screw slightly anticlockwise

4) Re-tighten locknut

5) Re-tighten top cap until the complete assembly locks on the valve body

6) Reset and actuate valve for the correct operation

If the seal / torque does not improve with the adjustments check the condition of the 'O' ring seal by following the full dismantling procedure on the next page.

The operator should establish a maintenance programme for all system valves based on the process product and frequency of valve use. Spares kits are available for all DPL supplied valves. For more information call 01799 582440
